Umdoni Park Golf Club
Umdoni Park Golf Club was established in on the 1st May 1920.
Umdoni Park Golf Club, one of the hidden treasures of the South Coast, boasts breath-taking sea views from 70% of the golf course and is situated in 200 hectares of indigenous coastal forest. The par 5 eighteenth and par 3 sixteenth holes are both elevated tees, which makes the length judgment critical.
The clubhouse has been recently renovated and offers spectacular views.
Umdoni Golf Course has a considerable reputation in Kwa-zulu Natal, being regarded as breathtakingly beautiful and hugely pleasurable to play.
Measuring only 5 560 meters from the tips, it has certainly been adjudged a sufficiently stern test to merit hosting several top KZN amateur events.
It is 18 holes over truly striking terrain, with the front 9 running alongside the sea and the back nine stretching inland through dense indigenous forest vegetation. Umdoni park is anything but flat and it’s elevation changes not only translate into an adventure of judgment and shot-making but provides any number of “view-site moments”.
On a fine day, lush fairways underfoot and with the ocean swells just breaking into whitecaps, a round at Umdoni is food for the soul – this is how golf is meant to be.

Selborne Golf Clubs
Rated as one of the top courses in South Africa it is not surprising that the Selborne Park Golf Club is often picked to host the Sunshine Tour’s events. It is a short but very enjoyable course and the interesting layout makes it a true test of anyone’s golfing abilities. Tight landing areas, optical illusions, changes in elevation and water hazards at 14 holes will captivate even the best players. You will want to come back to try and tame this course again and again.
This course becomes doubly interesting when the wind blows and you will find that question of selecting the right club can be as much of a challenge as scoring. Even though it is difficult to single out a signature hole as each hole is testing in itself the second and third are often mentioned as particularly demanding.
The Selborne Estate itself is designed in such a way that the homes and other amenities don’t overwhelm like some of the other high density estates do. The golf course is extraordinary, well kept and glimpses of the small antelope and birdlife will delight nature lovers. It is often compared to Augusta and a firm favorite with several professional golfers.
Besides the magnificent golf course you will be able to enjoy an excellent driving range next to the biggest putting green in Africa where the resident pro will gladly supply guidance if needed to help improve your game.
Playing a round of golf at the Selborne golf club is not the be missed but do book in advance as it is very popular.
